We support your learning for the realization of human services.

President Akemi Murakami

The University has human services as its mission and makes it its fundamental principle to facilitate coordination and integration between healthcare, medical care, and social welfare, to stress lifelong learning, and to contribute to local society.

Professionals in healthcare, medicine, and welfare are deeply involved in the health and life of "humans" from birth to death. Professionals in healthcare, medicine, and welfare are expected to play a major role in ensuring that people live peaceful lives.

Japan is seeing a rapidly decreasing birthrate and aging population, already causing a drop in population. Looking elsewhere in the world, the international order is reeling from conflicts and crises, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases are spreading globally, climate change-related disasters are frequent, and diverse other social issues are manifesting as threats to people's health and lifestyles.

Science has also advanced rapidly in recent years. However, advances in science and concomitant specialization promote partial interpretation from specialized vantage points, thus making it difficult to view "humans" holistically. Although interpretations of every part are justified, they give rise to a situation where combining them does not give an organic view of "humans."

At the University, you will be able to deepen the specialized learning required for each profession as well as learn to support "humans" holistically while coordinating and collaborating with diverse occupation types. You will have to create your own learning environments, overcome various obstacles together with other students, and engage with issues while cooperating.

I hope that you will nurture the sensitivity to flexible respond to increasingly complex social trends and digital technologies growing at a breakneck pace as well as learn practical skills as professionals for discerning problems to be solved for the sake of "humans" and coordinating and collaborating with others based on scientific evidence.

Let us realize human services together, in a way that values each individual and lets them live in the way that is best for them, without leaving anyone out.

All our teachers are here to support your learning.
