BackWe held the JCIE–SHI Healthy Aging Academic Roundtable.
BackJCIE–SHI Healthy Aging Academic Roundtable Held at SHI On September 30, 2026, the Graduate School of Health Innovation (SHI), Kanagawa University of Human Services, hosted the JCIE–SHI Healthy Aging Academic Roundtable, welcoming leading experts on ageing and healthy longevity from six Asian countries through the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE).
SHI and Kanagawa colleagues introduced Kanagawa’s ME-BYO policy, the role of the Center for Innovation Policy (CIP), the ME-BYO Index as a multidomain self-assessment tool, and community-based initiatives addressing health inequalities among older adults.
International participants shared complementary perspectives, including Singapore’s integrated community-care and aging-in-place models and China’s challenges related to urban-rural health disparities, caregiving, and rapidly changing demographics.
The discussion focused on how academic evidence can be translated into sustainable policy and community implementation, and how measurement tools and successful local models might be adapted across different Asian contexts.
