*Please note that applicants to the doctoral program are required to complete a pre-application consultation before submitting an application. Applications cannot be accepted without this consultation.
Application Period
First-round of Application: August 31, 2026 (Mon.) – October 8, 2026 (Thu.)
Second-round of Application: December 14, 2026 (Mon.) – January 14, 2027 (Thu.)
*We will not call for the second-round of application if the number of applicants reaches the enrollment limit in the first-round.

Short Essay
Submitting an essay is necessary for the application.
English Evaluation
| Paper Screening | Submit any one of the following official score reports when applying to entrance examination: *For TOEFL, send Test Taker Score Report to SHI, or, arrange to have ETS send the Institutional Score Report to SHI (DI Code: D252). |

Selection Method and Criteria

| Criteria | Applicants are ranked according to their document screening scores, and successful applicants are selected based on this ranking.
Only applicants who pass the document screening will proceed to the interview stage.
After the interviews, applicants are ranked according to their interview scores, and final admission decisions are made based on this ranking.

Admission Policy
In order to extend healthy lifespan, improve presymptomatic diseases, and realize a society in which each citizen can lead a worthwhile life, there is a strong need for human resources who can propose problem-solving measures unbound by existing concepts. In particular, the major in health innovation (Doctoral Course) in SHI at KUHS seeks to cultivate international human resources who possess a high level of expertise and an entrepreneurial spirit, and who will serve as future leaders by devoting themselves to social change through a scientifically-based approach using a perspective of public health. Accordingly, the Doctoral Course at SHI accepts human resources who possess the following qualities.
- Those who possess a strong desire to contribute to the international community by building a society where people can lead a worthwhile and prosperous life through the improvement of healthcare
- Those who possess specific awareness of issues in the field of healthcare based on their experiences obtained in society, and who aspire to utilize logical and scientific thinking in order to solve those issues without being bound by existing perspectives and frameworks
- Those who possess a certain level of specialized knowledge, research ability, and language proficiency that is equivalent to the level of completing a master’s program in a variety of specialized fields such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, health science, public health, nursing, engineering, economics, and business administration., and who conduct highly ethical research
Based on the above perspectives, we will comprehensively evaluate the applicant's motivation and expertise in the paper screening through a statement of reasons and a short essay, and the applicant's ability to work enthusiastically on research to solve problems in the interview process.
