The Center for Innovation Policy (CIP) is a transdisciplinary research institute with think tank functions. CIP was established to contribute widely to the improvement of ME-BYO and the promotion of health innovation by providing scientific and policy evidence through integration of the varied and advanced knowledge accumulated at KUHS. Many of CIPʼ s activities, such as the development of the “ME-BYO INDEX” , analysis based on healthcare data, and human resource development focusing on data analysis, are promoted in strong collaborations with Kanagawa Prefecture and industries in various fields. CIP aims to engage in and empower the practice of evidence-based policy making through the accomplishment of research in collaboration with industry, academia, and government.Transforming Academic Excellence into Social Impact.Our center serves as the universityʼ s think tank, supporting evidence-based policy making and facilitating the social implementation of research outcomes. One example is the “ME-BYO Index,” which allows individuals to easily understand their pre-disease condition. By encouraging behavioral change, this index contributes to extending healthy life expectancy, and we are advancing its scientific validation and societal deployment in collaboration with Kanagawa Prefecture.Guided by our commitment to innovation, we will continue to promote cutting-edge education and research that meet the expectations of residents, while further strengthening industry–government–academia partnerships.
